Matt did a fair bit of googling that afternoon and there is evidence to suggest that fertility drugs can give you an escalated reading, so for now that’s what we’re going to assume it is and in the meantime, someone at work who’s had Ovarian cancer is going to speak to the nurses at the Marsden for me. My brain can not deal with that on top of the ivf, so for now it is in a box to be opened again in a few weeks time.
30am plane. We thought we’d save a bit of money this time by getting the metro instead of a taxi from the airport to the clinic and anyway it would be a bit of adventure. Thank God Matt knew what he was doing, he got us both there like a professional tour guide and we arrived for our appointment with more than enough time. The forms were filled in, my progesterone bloods were done and we were whisked up to the familiar cubicle to meet P and get the transfer underway.
This time she wanted to push the embryos slightly further round, as I had a fibroid that was squashing down on part of the lining and making it thinner. So she picked the spot where it was 10.5mm deep and in a flash there they were.
Well how could we not, it was so ridiculously cheap
I was wheeled back to the cubicle, the intralipid was intravenously attached and we remained there for another 45 mins. The only thing left to do was to go up to the top floor and see Nikki about what drugs we needed, get my progesterone result and then we were free to go. We didn’t need to take too much home this time, as we already had quite a lot back in England. As we got up to go downstairs I turned back and there on a shelf were my mini candles surrounded by a picture of a new born baby………. Oh please let this be a good luck sign.
So there we were, all done for the third time and a great result on the progesterone too, we now had to fill a few hours till our 9pm flight. Only one thing for it then, spot of traditional Greek lunch and a trip to Zara. On our first trip back in January, Matt had got chatting on the plane to a Greek student guy who gave us a few names of places to https://www.hookupdate.net/jeevansathi-review/ visit , so we decided this was the perfect opportunity to seek out one of those establishments for lunch. We had a fantastic leisurely meal, (I did get locked in the loo and had to break out by kicking the door in and thumping down on the lock simultaneously, a minor blip) and then took a amble around the shops, acquiring a pair of shoes (for Matt) and a zara jacket (for me) along the way…….
Jim wanted me to repeat the test after Athens but I said there was no point as I would still be taking so much medication and it would take for ever to leave my system, so he decided that a scan was the next best option
We took the metro back to the airport, boarded our flight and walked through our front door at midnight…. Phew!! if the embryos survived that day then I think they stand a bloody good chance of going all the way, after that epic adventure.
So now I am 12dp5dt ( 12 days past 5 day tranfer) and today is my official testing day………. But we’re not doing it!! I Know, mental. I don’t want the trauma of a few weeks ago when I got a faint positive because the sodding pregnyl was still in my system, so we’re waiting….. We may do it tomorrow (April 28th) or we may wait till Wednesday when I have the pregnancy blood test, or we may just wait and wait who knows. All I do know is this post won’t be published just yet.
