The internet has become a gold mine of resources for photographers of all different genres, experience levels and styles. It’s really easy to find inexpensive Lightroom or even Photoshop presets to help make fascinating post-processing colors and effects without spending hours trying to create them yourself. The one issue is: which ones do you really use? SLR Lounge has released an all-comprehensive Lightroom 4 Preset System which is user friendly and takes the headache out of using presets. Allow me to start off by stating that I have dabbled with Lightroom presets earlier, and while I had been easily entertained by the consequences that each would make I would immediately become frustrated with the way they would mess up my Lightroom preset sidebar. It got really cluttered at one point that I deleted the countless presets I had just to clean my own sidebar. I reverted back to only doing fundamental level alterations in Lightroom and exporting them to Photoshop to perform the vast majority of my own retouching. I was fascinated by SLR Lounge’s new comprehensive system of presets that were all consumer friendly and really quite helpful in my own post-processing workflow. So much so that within only 1 week of working on this particular system I found myself with the presets as a precursor to my Photoshop adjustments. It shaved off Lightroom Presets Slr Lounge it so much time out of my post-processing I was able to appreciate other pursuits like spending time with the family in lieu of sitting in front of my screen and tediously adding the consequences manually. Getting Started After downloading the documents from their server (gigabytes) and launching the. Zip file, each folder includes its very own specific instructions on the best way to use the documents and how to set up the presets into Lightroom. The installation is very simple and even comes with a video describing more in depth about how to set up the new presets. In a different video Pye requires you through a fairly long demonstration (13 minutes) on how to use the machine and exactly what it involves. While the demo video was exciting to observe I really do feel that this was possibly a mistake adding this to the tutorial videos. The demonstration was so engaging I had stopped the tutorial and began messing around with all the presets myself without watching the other videos. This is a huge mistake on my part. It took me several days to focus and come back to the videos and watched each one. I really recommend that you hold off on messing around with all the presets until you have watched the majority of the video tutorials that accompany the machine
